Bali's Biggest Beach Clean Up

Bali's Biggest Beach Clean Up

On Saturday, 16th February, over 20,000 people in over 120 locations, lined Bali's beaches to collect trash. An annual initiative led by One Island One Voice to address Bali's state of emergency against pollution. We joined forces with Liina Klauss and a handful of legends to clean up Mengenin Beach in Seseh. During that one morning on one single beach, 3250 single shoes were collected. Using the lost soles, Liina Klauss created this River Of Rubbish. A confronting image that conveys the message that land-based trash sources make up 80% of the world’s marine pollution which means almost all plastics come down the river.  A big thank you to everyone who joined in for Bali's Biggest Clean Up.   Learn more and join the next clean up via oneislandonevoice.org Film by @sustainable_vagabondsImages by Gary Benchigib

CCS x Indosole x PNNY Community Assist 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament

Bali, Indonesia – Last Saturday the Community Assist 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament took place at Canggu Community School, a fundraiser to help survivors of the earthquakes in Lombok. We were able to collect 50 million Rupiah ($3,385 USD)! It was a hugely successful event with four teams registered to our Pro (student) Division, nineteen teams playing in the Open (adult) division, fourteen businesses set up in the Community Marketplace, and over 40 sponsors who graciously donated items for our Raffle and Silent Auction! A big THANK YOU to everyone who came out to the tournament this past Saturday. Indosole organised it together with our tournament partners Canggu Community School and House of PNNY. The Canggu Community School offers an international learning environment for students from Preschool, Kindergarten, Primary, or Elementary School on to Secondary or High school. PNNY is a DJ collective made up of local artists - both groups are made up of passionate, talented people without whom the concept of this tournament would never have been conceived nor executed. The proceeds of this tournament will be donated to the The Shelter Project – a global disaster relief initiative in Lombok, Indonesia. In July 2018, the island of Lombok was struck by a devastating Earthquake. Whilst news coverage has faded, villages remain in rubble and thousands of families have still been left without a home. The Shelter Project wants to build an initial 100 shelters. Check out their website to learn more about their initiative. Here are some photos of the Basketball action!

Introducing The Echo Quarter

Bali, Indonesia – Indosole’s Flagship Store proves good things happen when good people come together. Last year, we envisioned a space that could not only house our brand, but serve as a communal space for other influencers in the community. A dream team formed when we met Eden, Brent, Shane, and Jade who shared our vision for a radical experience to enhance our lifestyles and livelihoods. Together we pioneered the development of a new building in the heart of Canggu / Echo Beach, which we’ve named, “The Echo Quarter.” We’re ecstatic to have opened our new Flagship Store in the heart of Canggu, Bali. We’re one of four retail shops in The Echo Quarter, along with four offices upstairs. The Echo Quarter is currently home to: Lettuce Inn Indosole Dream Good SIR The Label Dead Kooks Salty’s As a progressive brand in the ecospace and community of Bali and California, we felt our story would be the most impactful and well received in a space in which we’d have full control to tell our story and convey the DNA of the brand. We wanted a space where our product could be showcased in a soulful way that tells our story and is inviting to our customers, friends, and families. The Indosole Flagship Store has been custom built with locally sourced materials. The product display wall features a moveable peg system, allowing us a great deal of flexibility in the display of our footwear. The center piece is a gold tire because... tires are gold to us! Adjoined through a doorway is a cafe run by local heroes Shane Moran and Sam Wrenchman. Lettuce Inn offers a range of delicious breakfast and lunch items, coffee, smoothies, and elixirs and is open daily from 8am to 9pm. Come visit us and see The Echo Quarter for yourself! Jl. ESSNTLS

Introducing The Indo Slide

Last year we all sat around the kitchen table and started talking about our brand, pretty standard conversation for our team. This conversation revolved around how sustainability and sustainable products are “on-trend” or “fashionable.”  We kept talking about what that meant in the world and what that meant in relation to us. We started our brand in 2009 as a pioneer in our space and it seems as though every other brand was trying to catch up, or that people may now be more open to the idea of conscious consumerism. We kept talking about the products that we have made in the past vs. the products we should be making now. We kept asking; what is ECO-fashion and what does that mean? We decided then and there that we needed to keep progressing and that as pioneers, we had to continue to lead and disrupt the idea that sustainability wasn’t stylish. In the beginning we didn’t know if we were starting a trend or if we were just out there on our own. Through that conversation and months of development we created a whole new product line that we are super proud of. That product line called, the ESSNTLS, allowed us to produce our most successful flip flop in our brand’s history and now we are ready to drop our second silhouette under the ESSNTLS umbrella - THE INDO SLIDE. This silhouette is allowing our brand to continue to progress even further into the world of ECO-fashion. With a focus on the materials used, the production process, always caring about comfort, durability, price and of course style. Hope you enjoy wearing them as much as we enjoyed making them!

“It’s not what we do, but how we do it. We are inspired by how things are done. We are not creating a brand just to fill up shelves" We at Indosole are ecstatic to announce a special collaboration with a special brand that we respect and are inspired by for their commitment to responsible processes and high quality products that are properly made by real people.
