Life in Bali
Bali is a unique place, full of life, traditions and expats and not to mention the good food and beautiful beaches.. Life here is rather simple and relatively cheaper than the States but sometimes all it takes is super hot humid weather and a motorbike for it to feel super hectic and difficult. So I when I was presented with the opportunity to come live in Bali for a couple months to help out with some design work, photography and sample making, without a doubt I said YES PLEASE CAN I LEAVE TOMORROW?!

Kenya Dig Bali
Kenya Dig BaliKenya here, reporting form Bali--Its only been a little over a week and already I have taken part in a yoga-a-thon, eaten delicious Mexican food twice (one thing I miss most when traveling), scootered to Ubud for yoga in the rain followed by a concert of Dustin Thomas and Medicine for the People at the Bali Spirit Festival, we have had batik hand dyed with our very own designs, found a home base, drank my weight in papaya juice and eaten dinner for under a dollar a couple of times and it was bomb.com... When I arrived, Kai and I instantly hit the road running at full force, getting me familiar with Indosole from a Bali perspective and working on gathering ideas and materials to bring you guys some rad new gear!
I would now say I am living the Bali way of life, scootering all day everyday, running out of minutes on my phone, and dealing with a way of life where nothing really goes as planned. I have also discovered that when my credits for electricity in my spot are low the machine beeps until you buy new ones -- learned this at 1 am the other night.. Despite the rough patches that come naturally when adjusting to a new country and environment, I feel at peace at the end of our long days, sitting a local warung(cafe) along the beach to catch the sunset, sip a fresh coconut, and meet some cool new people who always have come sort of tip or funny story we can relate to about living in Bali. At the end of the night you realize that Bali is a pretty amazing and unique place to be. Experiences like this give you a whole new perspective on your life back at "home" and make you realize how good we have it and how much we take advantage of it.. Yes, I miss San Francisco, mainly my two main squeezes, Beau and Deezle but there is such a creative and conscious vibe here that I never really feel lonely or that feeling of "I can't wait to get home"...Shreeed and much love, KSFollow Kenya's adventures on instagram -@kenyastabler #KenyaDigBali

Soul Surf Project Bali
Soul Surf Project BaliA couple weeks back, we were lucky enough to spend an afternoon with Soul Surf Project Bali, an organaziation that does great things for orphans in Bali. They take them surfing! Here it is in their own words: "As soul surf project Bali we want equal chances for all children living on our planet. Children are the new generation! If we can give them knowledge about environmental care, they can give this knowledge to the world! With surfing we have a method which is helping us to protect the coast and its environment! Surfing will be given as a reward for growing awareness and knowledge and a new attitude. While surfing, the kids are in the elements of mother nature, by being in those elements they will learn to appreciate it!"Check www.soulsurfprojectbali.com for more. Don't Go To Lombok
Don't Go To LombokThe waves suck and the people are crazy.Lombok is an island east of Bali that was recently visited by Indosole's crew and some friends.Lacking the elegance and cultural aptitude of Bali, Lombok is not for the weak. No A.C. rooms, massages on the beach, or a plethora of restaurants and bars to choose from for night time fun.No beautiful views of ocean side cliffs and islands in the distance. No hilltop lookouts over the jungle and ocean combined. No amazing boat adventures to find uncrowded and pumping beautiful waves. No paved roads that make it easy to get around. No exposed surf spots that are easy to find and paddle out to. No safe ice to drink. And definitely no delicious coconuts. So if you are looking for a beautiful surf or beach destination to go to next, definitely Do Not Go To Lombok. The waves suck and the people are crazy......Meanwhile we'll be there suffering from the lack of amenities. Try not to worry about us, we will be ok.Our buddy Heath, putting up with Lombok's lack of resources....

Something NEW is happening
Something NEW is behind Door #2The winter months can be long, cold, and stoke deprived for some. The good news for us is that both California and Bali enjoy a mild and surf filled winter season so it is business as usual here at Indosole. Our crew's dream is alive and kicking and we have spent some time in the "Indo Lab" plotting new product innovations and preparing for a busy spring and summertime.Indosole will be extending its product offering in the near future and this is something we are very excited about. New goods - following our trademark of organic materials and production processes...More coming soon! Stay tuned

Jodie O'Shea Orphange
Holiday Product Drop - Jodie O'Shea Orphange in Bali
A couple days before Christmas this year, we got the very special chance to deliver pairs of Indosole sandals, and stickers to the 50 plus children of the Jodie O'Shea Orphange in Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia. The children's smiles are the type of smiles that really stay with you for a long time and remind you that life is good no matter what your situation, with love we can succeed.
Most of the kids are from Bali, and come from a mix bag of situations that have placed them in the orphanage. Some of the kids come from other islands in Indo such as Sumbawa, Flores, and Lombok. The idea of the orphanage is to provide a home, food, and education for the children. The goal is to look after the children until the age of 18, get them through school and teach life lessons so they are able to move on when ready and become the great human beings they are destined to be. We hope to able to contribute to their success for many years to come.
