Over 20 thousand volunteers, at over 160 locations around Bali fighting against plastic pollution!
Bali is a beautiful paradise, known for its stunning beaches, lush jungles, and vibrant culture. Unfortunately, this paradise is being threatened by plastic pollution. In recent years, Bali has become one of the world’s most polluted tourist destinations. It's estimated that up to 12 million tons of plastic waste is dumped into our oceans each year and much of it ends up in Bali.
To address this issue, our friends at One Island One Voice and Bye Bye Plastic Bags are hosting the biggest clean-up in Bali’s history. The Bali Clean-Up Day, which takes place on February 19th, is a day dedicated to cleaning up the island’s beaches, rivers, and other areas. It’s an opportunity to come together and make a real difference and to raise awareness about the dangers of plastic pollution.
On the day of the event, over 20 thousand volunteers will gather at over 160 designated locations around the island to fight against plastic pollution. The team will also educate locals and visitors about the importance of recycling and proper waste disposal. Bye Bye Plastic Bags will be on hand to provide resources and tools to help individuals and communities reduce their plastic waste.
The Bali Clean-Up Day is an inspiring example of how people, when united, can make a huge impact. The event has been a success and continues to grow each year. It’s an inspiring reminder that we can all make a difference if we work together.
But more than this we at Indosole want to take this opportunity to make something exciting that will inspire others to join us on the fight against trash. Which is why we have partnered up with Liina Klauss, an artist, environmentalist and a true Good Human. She has made it her life’s work to try and shed some light on what is happening on the beautiful island she now calls home.
We invite everyone to join us in making a difference. If you’re in Bali, please come out on February 19th and join us in making a difference. Even if you’re not able to join us in person, you can still participate by donating to the cause or spreading the word to your friends and family. Every little bit helps!
Much love,
Indosole Team
