Why am I even doing this trek?
It all started when my really good friend Indra asked me to go to Mount Agung. I wasn’t fit at all that time haha, and I didn’t even make it to the summit.
Since then, I wanted to get better at hiking and try bigger mountains. Last April, I went to Annapurna Base Camp to get better with hiking and altitude. After that trek, I felt more confident to try something harder in the Himalayas. So that’s why I decided to go to Everest Base Camp.

I wanted to see if I could do it independently, without a guide or porter, and reach Everest Base Camp the old-school way, without taking a flight, just trekking with a friend.
For me, it’s a personal choice to keep testing my human limits and remind myself that we can do hard things. So when hard things come in life, maybe we can face them a little easier.
Before leaving for the trek, I asked Indosole if I could bring some sandals to shoot in the Himalayas.

Along the trail, I met Ajaya, a local Sherpa porter. I gave him a pair of grey Easy Living sandals, and he was super stoked about them! We did a quick shoot in Pheriche before he had to get back to work, carrying loads all the way towards Everest Base Camp.

I also brought my black Indosole slides with me. After walking for eight hours in my hiking boots, it was so nice to switch into sandals and chill around the teahouses along the trail. Definitely nice to give my feet a break after a long day of walking haha.
So here are a few shots from the Everest Base Camp trails, with me and Ajaya rocking Indosole sandals in the Himalayas!
