Thanks for a great year
Happy New Year 2017! We wanted to write a quick note to say thanks for your support in 2016, which was an influential year of growth and learning for us at Indosole.
Your feedback and suggestions have been carefully noted and we are working hard to implement them to our freshest batches of Indos. We look forward to sharing upgrades to the Men's Prahu shoe, the Kota high top, and our Women's Innertubed sandal in the coming months!
We are committed to being the most responsible company we can be, which is why we really appreciate your feedback. Please reach out to us anytime with questions and comments at indo@indosole.com.
On conscious consumerism
In 2016 we saw the conscious consumerism movement gain steam and we are optimistic that it will continue to do so in 2017! More and more consumers are actively looking for responsible alternatives to the products they buy, and an increasing number of intriguing options are popping up.
We are happy to have had the opportunity to share some of these great alternatives at TEDxUbud 2016, where Indosole founder Kyle Parsons talked about the importance of changing consumer habits in light of the growing world waste problem.
Kyle's outfit was put together almost entirely from recycled and repurposed materials, which came as a surprise to many audience members. It was a pleasure to collaborate with like-minded companies to bring the concept of conscious consumerism to life on the TEDx stage: MAFIA, Shwood, Green Guru, Outerknown, OSOM, Industry of All Nations, Bureo, Klean Kanteen, and Sustainable Surf.
Although at this point many consumers might still be unable to name a responsible company, we know that at the very least, the interest is there. It is up to all of us to grow that interest and spread awareness as best as we can. We make it a priority to share the alternatives we come across with our networks (especially if the product is tried-and-true) and we hope you will too!
Our hope for 2017
In 2017 we wish for the world to come together and bridge the divides, and for people to focus on making progress rather than waste energy tearing each other down over perceived differences.
We wish for more and more companies to embrace transparency and better processes. And we hope that more consumers start to realize that they have the power to show industries what they care about with every purchase they make (and purposefully do not make). We hope for all of these things, as well as positivity, opportunities, leaps forward, and good times in abundance.
So thanks again for your continued support, and here's to a great 2017 ahead!
